The thing that tvOS desperately needs, to my mind, is full HomeKit support. It's already a relay, sure, but when I have the Siri remote in my hand, sitting down to watch TV, frequently I want to change the lighting. If I tell the Siri Remote to dim the lights, Siri tells me she can't help with that here - please let her help! She already knows I'm making a HomeKit request, just go ahead and act on it! Why should I have to pick up my phone and wake up Siri there to handle the request?

But when I finally buy my son the game he's been begging for and I discover (because I'm too busy to read the details on the app store) that it's unplayable without purchasing a Nimbus, I'm grumpy and my son is disappointed. So then I'll take to MacRumors with my pitchfork, lol.

Don't worry your "son" will hate the game anyways, because the Siri Remote isn't a proper controller and the gaming experience will be awful! You might save $50 but the gameplay will be ruined.

I always say you can get a refund or actually buy a real controller.
Using the remote as a controller is an awful experience. There are many games that are simply unplayable with the remote. Why would any developer risk bad reviews by releasing a game that happens to just work for the remote but should be played with the controller. The awful games in the tv App Store show the damage this requirement is taking.

It is my opinion that the Kinect is ugly and its unattractiveness outweighs its usefulness. So having an additional accessory plugged in would not be an ideal solution for me. Now... if the Apple TV unit itself had a built-in mic with noise cancelling, then I'd be on board with your idea.
Yeah that was the whole point of what I said. They would just need a mic on the front. I only referred to be Kinect for the type of functionality I want.

Noticed your other reply above. Many of these games are just barely playable and not fun at all without a real controller. Some are nigh impossible to control. All they would need is the simple logic check of "have they paired a third party controller before, and if not, display a notice message before purchasing." But the real solution is Apple bundling a first party controller. Just adds cost. I'd pay up for a beefier gaming edition with controller.

Have always wanted a watch face like the Pebble with the time in words like

two
thirty
eight

On the Pebble the eight would slide out to the left as 'nine' slid in from the right.

watchOS: much more customisation and choice among the digital faces; those are really limited. In particular the ability to display seconds (still can't believe we don't have this after all this time).
YES! It wouldn't be that hard for Apple to add a complication that displayed seconds, and then us folks who want seconds could simply dial it in when desired. Sadly, that'd have to be a special Apple-supplied complication, because a third-party complication won't get called often enough to update seconds reasonably.

Yes, I know, I had a go at creating one and couldn't get past the lack of updating! I have made do with an app, which was trivial to do, but not really a satisfactory solution.

The one thing that pisses me off the most with Apple TV is the fact that there is no way to automate/streamline the logon to the TV apps. If I have 20 TV apps, this means I need to authenticate to each and single one of them and on top of that, I need to repeat this process every 2-3 weeks because they loose the authentication. This implementation is a fuc...ing disaster and so un-Apple. Apple FIX IT!!!

I want a universal Watch List on the Apple TV. I can have a "Watch List" for Netflix, or any other app, but I want a universal one regardless of what app (iTunes, Hulu, Plex, Netflix) has the movie. I want to be able to ask Siri to show me a particular movie and it brings up the movie's info screen (just like it does now) and it will show me which services have that movie (it should be able to search into Plex to find out what movies I have, that's another request), I should be able to create a Watch List that the Apple TV holds onto, not just the individual apps. That way I don't have to look through multiple apps to find see my list of movies that I want to watch.
