WWDC has been becoming less and less developer focused since the introduction of the iPhone in 2007. I am sure some people here can remember WWDC in 1990s... when it was a developer-only conference.

Um, it's not over just yet! Some people will still be working from home for awhile longer while we wait to get everyone vaccinated in full. We are seeing big progress in case numbers and numbers of death, but it's still not over quite yet.
Some of these features will be great pandemic or no pandemic. Watching movies with friends in the comfort of your own home without having to get together is still a great option, especially long distance or if you have an introverted friend you want to join in on the fun. Syncing up playback is something that Houseparty has tried to do. This is even better!
