They need to have in person events. Not the overproduced crap we get now.
They'll never do that again. They took the opportunity when given to move to pre-recorded, overproduced crap, and simultaneously gave up all accountability for having software ready to demonstrate on stage. We know now that Apple Intelligence features were mostly non-functional in June 2024, and were entirely mocked up for the keynote video. That never would have been (as) possible before in the live setting.

This format basically allows them to present vaporware, and after a couple of years of it, they finally did. It also allows to announce unpopular, anti-customer changes, without having to suffer boos being broadcast to millions of watchers around the world. Imagine the iPhone 12 announcement in front of a live audience: "Yes, we are removing the absolutely necessary-to-use-your-device charger from the box, and the headphones while we're at it. We're going to save millions of dollars per quarter on packaging and shipping alone, AND ...instead of lowering the price by $40, we're going to raise the price of iPhone by $130. Isn't that great?!"

Tim has no idea what magic is, he only cares for the shareholders.
For customers the magic died with Jobs.
Apple desperately needs a product and customer focused individual to replace Tim Cook as soon as possible.

Ironically, the absolute beast of a growth machine that Apple became happened as a result of Jobs approach, which prioritized product and customer over revenue. The revenue came because of his focus on what mattered. Cook inherited this growth machine, and was a successful caretaker of it, and then put his expertise into it when growth slowed to milk blood from the stone. But it is time for a return to form.

Ah well, the design (form) team is gone too.
I don't expect anything from Apple anymore. But I'm certain that they will continue to release ok products the 2 yrs Cook is left. Hope next CEO are better for customers, however - we'll see.
I'll continue to buy the Apple products I need, but I don't do it with any particular joy anymore. I just need them for my own prodyctivity - that's all - so I only buy and upgrade to the minimum of what I need. Not more!
I look elsewher for inspiration today, so I don't watch these keynotes as a child on christmas eve as before, I don't watch them at all, actually.
I read MacRumors to get the info, and do other stuff.

Probably true, unfortunately.

A couple weeks ago I was watching clips of when Apple used to do in person events. I miss those. The produced advertisements are getting boring and stale now (it's been 5 years, can't believe it). I loved that interaction, especially with Craig Federighi and the crowd.

Well, then let's just wait on what Apple reveals then.. Somehow these two individuals, Jon and Mark, doesn't strike me as someone I need to pay attention to, and yet here I am.

I don't know why the whole rumor thing irks me so much. If MacRumors were a printed magazine that was sent to stands once a month, then I'd feel exited. Right now it's just 'who said what and where'

The days of keeping things a secret and for us to be surprised about is over. Apple themselves are probably not helping - but an image is just an image for now.

I am free to not read MacRumors (it's even in the title of the website that it's a Rumor site) However, I come here mostly for actual hardware and software news, and to help people along should they require help.. Or I share a desktopo screenshot once in a while.

Thank you. I'll be here all late afternoon
