Why do we still trust MajinBu with leaks? Remember the fidget spinner camera? Yeah that came from him… I also remember macOS 14 running on iPads coming from him 3 years ago…

Many of these rumors come from people being shown, or having described to them, work in progress (obviously). The people showing/telling them these things might be so enthusiastic about what they're working on, that it can seem to the person they're revealing these things to that these things are likely to be released as shown. One of Prosser's approaches is to convey that enthusiasm, but then (at least sometimes) toning it down by pointing out that these things may or may not look or work like he's been shown.

Many people have their hands on the elephant, and each describes what the overall beast must look like depending on what they're touching.

I think Prosser actually gets an edge over Gurman in that his leaks featured carefully crafted renders, whereas Gurman's predictions of the new UI were much more vague and open to interpretation. FPT's renders weren't exact, but pretty damn close... and he repeatedly admits that what they saw were early builds, and that the final product might look different. And I imagine that the liquid glass visuals and effects would be quite difficult for a digital artist to copy, especially with limited information at their disposal.

What is the ratio of correct claims to false claims?
Mark Gurman is the typical clairvoyant. He makes three to four claims per week. In his "newsletter," he adds a few more rumors. Whether they come from third parties or are his own invention, we'll leave open.

But of course, with 260 claims per year, a certain number are bound to be correct. That's pure statistics. Just like you're bound to roll a six at least once in six attempts.
You’re BOUND to roll a 6 in 6 attempts?
By that logic you’re BOUND to roll each number „at least“ once.
I agree with the rest but that makes no sense.

The icons are slightly rounder, which is what the rumor said. People took that to mean everything from some hideous abomination shape to a literal circle. In truth, they have the slightest increase in radius.
Interesting. You’re right, I thought something looked different.
But furthermore it seems that the icon placement on the Home Screen changed slightly, too. Wonder why that is.

Maybe Apple actually considered this option but then were like “nah it is ugly, lets leave it OG way”.

I am very happy icons stayed square. I never liked round icons on my older Samsung
Agreed. The current shape offers far more space and flexibility than a round icon could. There would be many many apps, especially games, that would have to come up with a completely new icon. Luckily the icons only got the slightest of bits rounder and not circular.
