Just hours away from WWDC's opening keynote, some developers have been sharing the contents of their conference swag bags on social media. The bags are given to attendees when they register for the event, and typically contain limited-edition Apple gifts.

This year, developers have been registering early at Apple's Infinite Loop campus, where they have been gifted a black tote bag emblazoned with the WWDC 2026 logo, along with a water bottle, a selection of stickers, and collectible enamel pins.

There are four pins in the bag, including the Apple skull and crossbones, an Apple 50 pin, Clarus the Dogcow, and Little Finder Guy – the tiny anthropomorphized version of the Mac Finder icon that went viral after appearing in Apple's recent online marketing campaign for the MacBook Neo.

With that title, you'd really think that they meant the Little Finder Guy was like... a figure... and not a pin.

Still praying for the day that they make a hipper version so that I can stick him onto my devices 🤞

How cool (and inexpensive) would it be to have a Lil Finder Guy pin tucked away in every MacBook box? Maybe a non penny-pinching non-greenwashing CEO could bring some fun back in the products?

They have destroyed the meaning of the icon.

The icon isn’t a blue guy with a phantom of the opera half mask. The left side of the Finder icon is the Mac screen and the right side of the face is the human user sitting in front of the computer, well, using it. They are both happy at eachother. It is the concept of human interface as an icon. It was done as a Picasso-esque “two faces in one” style. Iconic. To dumb it down to the latchkey terminally online zoomer Funco Pop generation and make it be entirely a “little blue guy” smiling on his face with a weird half mask (with no smile!) completely destroys the meaning and metaphor. For what? Some Mac tourists who think they are devs because they vibe coded for 45 minutes? Enough.

As fun as mascots can be, I don't think the Finder Guy will ever be as iconic as the Android Bot. I'm not an Android user, but I do appreciate that they have had a recognizable mascot since the beginning.

A biodegradable sticker is surely possible in this day and age.

I don't think we lost the stickers due to green concerns - more penny pinching concerns.

I love lil' Finder guy - and I'm speaking as someone who has zero merch of that sort.

It's fun and I hope that Apple rolls out some fun merch with LFG in.

And we know that TC hates to leave money on the table.

To be fair, they are still available for free on request in Apple Stores if you want them. I personally have a huge collection of these from all the devices I’ve had over the years and never really had anywhere to stick them. They make for a nice novelty during unboxing but that’s pretty much it imo.

I would really like a figurine rather than a pin since it’s really inherently a 3d character. Maybe they could sell them at the HQ Apple Store.
