In 2021, Apple sent out digital invitations for its 32nd Worldwide Developers Conference in late March. Given that an all-digital conference is expected to occur again this year rather than an in-person event, we could see Apple send invitations as soon as this week.

Apple last year sent out invitations to developers and the press for WWDC on March 30, with the dates of the conference being June 7 to June 11. During the conference, Apple announced iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8, and more.

Apple used to hold its Worldwide Developers Conference in the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, but since 2020, all of Apple's events have been digital with no in-person attendance. It's unclear when the next in-person Apple event might be, but it's likely not to be WWDC this coming June.

During WWDC, Apple will announce iOS and iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and possibly some new hardware. Apple last announced hardware during WWDC in 2019, when it unveiled the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR. Apple is working on an updated version of the Mac Pro with Apple silicon which could be announced during WWDC.

June 8th is the date the Studio Display with height adjustable stand becomes available in Apple Stores, so I am believing Ross Young about the mini-LED version launching in June.

Just skip a year of iOS and macOS versions and just refine the current MacOS and iOS for another year. :)
Hate these comments because they don’t mean anything, you do know bugs will always be there, they can keep pushing bug fix updates and bugs will still be there it can never be bug free; I would rather cool features and exciting changes and still have bugs, 3 months beta testing and it’s still full of bugs

This report’s the same thing that came to my mind when I saw WWDC mentioned in the headline. What I’m most curious about is whether it’ll be just miniLED or miniLED plus ProMotion like the MacBook screens. Did Young say anything about that?

I predict absolutely no new hardware at all. In fact, I think they won't even talk about the Mac Pro. They just announced and started shipping the most powerful Mac in history... I can't imagine they want to kill potential sales to pros who are interested in buying one by telling them the Mac Pro is coming soon or even what it'll run like.

I'm guessing this is a software-only year, and maybe some new/enhanced services.

I used to attend WWDC in person when it was at Moscone West in San Francisco. It was a long trip from Europe but the conference was meaningful to a Mac developer. After about 2010 it should have been called IOSDC as it was super focused on iOS. I'd like to go back to an in-person event as the pre-recorded videos are more fluff than substance compared to the days prior to 2007.

Are you serious? Time spent cleaning up code makes a huge difference in the number of bugs in software and the quality of it in general. They released Monterey without features they intended to release until 12.3! They need to calm the f down and stop doing these yearly releases they are doing simply to try and cut off old hardware and generate more sales.

95% of the stuff they release each year in these "OS" updates shouldn't be part of the OS anyways, they should be applications that people can install or not depending if they even want to use them.

I feel like across Apple’s product line iPadOS and WatchOS are the areas with the most opportunity. WatchOS because of health monitoring innovation and iPadOS because of “what are we doing here?”
