I hope more discussion is about development and Apple Silicon support. There are still some applications that are not on Apple Silicon so I hope Apple speaks to partnering with a few companies to get more things converted. I tried to use the M1 Mac Mini and M1 Max Macbook Pro without Rosetta and that only lasted a few hours.

I know there’s always a new one on the horizon. But I’m really wanting a AS MacBook and I’d hate to get an M1 when something new could be a month or 2 away. I’ve waited this long!

That happened when I bought my 2006 CD MacBook. C2D came out maybe 6 weeks later and I was annoyed until for the next 6 years.

If I were to guess, the new Mac Pro will get announced. Apple is eager to get to a common code base for their os and probably doesn’t want to waste calories on x86/64 anymore.
Indeed, I definitely expect the Mac Pro on WWDC, Apple practically pre-announced it.

I don't need more than an M1 Max but as a fanboy, I hope Apple would make a Mac pro with multiple M1 Ultra blades. Just add a blade for more Ultra et voila, it would be grand. And Apple could finally enter super-computers, data-centres and BTminers in a big way with these Ultra blades. I can dream, right? :)

I'm assuming the MacBook Pro will remain untouched for a year or so yet considering they were upgraded with the new design and M1 Pro/Max only relatively recently?......

Also happened to me with my 2006 white MacBook Core Duo lol.

This is so needed. Since iOS 14 the Home screen has become so confusing. I just use search now to find and open apps.
It’s only cause people have a plethora of apps. Using universal search is how you should be looking for your apps. In my mind personally. Allowing one to put apps all over home screens is just going to make matters worse.

If it’s a virtual event, we probably won’t see invites until the week before, won’t we?

Did you even read the article? The answer is the opening paragraph.

In 2021, Apple sent out digital invitations for its 32nd Worldwide Developers Conference in late March. Given that an all-digital conference is expected to occur again this year rather than an in-person event, we could see Apple send invitations as soon as next week.

Expecting it to be an online event. Looking forward to seeing new features in the next versions of iOS/macOS.

I wonder if this is mainly a cost-cutting move to continue holding events this way? At this point pretty much most in-person events have resumed, so I doubt it's some type of restriction. Would be kind of disappointed if they never go back to their splashy events, that was kind of a signature thing for Apple.

I Hope the iPhone 6s is still supported on Ios 16. Still Works great and has no slowdown at all when I'm using it.

Typically this is due to some large-scale infrastructural change, such as dropping GPUs which don't have desired features or chips without a neural engine.

My guess for mobile chips, the next would be things before A10 for hardware video encoding support.

The A10 makes sense to drop for GPU features, lack of neural engine and H.265 video hardware encoding reasons. However, the A10 is in the 1st Gen ATV 4k, which was just discontinued last year.

On desktop, there's a ton of support reasons to drop Intel as well as Rosetta - but I expect this to take several years.

Neither Google or Apple have returned employees to work yet. So at this time any large attendance events that are international based would not occur without some pandemic precautions with large inside gatherings still for Santa Clara County.

Still? I thought even the Democratic People's Republic of California had removed those restrictions.
