Nevermind ppc, will the original core duos be supported?

I hope not. That's rubbing salt in an open wound. Paying customers don't like to hear how a service they have been paying for sucks. Then on top of it, how they are going to fix it and STILL charge you for being a guinea pig. Lol.

Well, I was being a bit facetious there. He didn't say, "The AppleTV is crap, and I'm embarrassed we sold the thing." He said, "Our customers love them, but it's not a big hit, and this is what we learned about what customers want..." then he proceeded to list all the limitations of the first atv. I expect he'll introduce iCloud in a similar fashion (though he will need more than one slide to cover MM's problems ;) )

Is this how the notifications will look like? Also an update to the Camera.app icon or maybe also the Camera.app itself? ( i can alsmost see built in effects for photos) (party)

That looks like twitter integration to me. That camera icon makes sense because it looks more like the actual camera now. New menubar at the top looks nice, translucent like OS X. This just may be real.

Actually it looks gray to me. hopefully we'll be able to change the color to black with a hack from Cydia. ;)

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this as I'm rushing out of the door shortly and haven't had time to read all posts, but that iCloud logo looks to me, given the mention of using Time Capsule for iCloud and a possible Time Capsule refresh, that the new Time Capsules will be made of metal (to match the new iMacs, for example).

They seem to have a hard time putting radio transmission devices inside a metal case tho (eg iphone1g -> iphone3g)

My WWDC 2011 Prediction

Here is what I think :apple: will announce during the WWDC 2011 opening keynote (this is just my prediction):

Prediction:
-iOS 5 (out in September):
Revamped Notifications
Widgets (finally bringing calculator, weather app, etc. to iPad)
iCloud Related Improvements
-Mac OS X Lion (Out by the end of June):
What has already been announced + improvements that have to do with iCloud
-iCloud:
Wireless syncing service
iCloud = wireless itunes (itunes in the cloud)
Streaming music (streaming + saving to your device for later playback)
Major Time Capsule Revamp

NO iPhone 5/4S here
NO Macbook Air revamp here

No. Lion will need a minimum of Intel Core 2 Duo to run.

It is worse then that. It is any Core2Duo that already runs 64 bit SnowLeopard. I have a Core2Duo2 but it is one of those that, although 64 bit, isn't "supported" as a 64 bit machine for SnowLeopard (MacBookPro3,1); thus Lion will not run on it. :(

I would be thrilled if they announced iOS5, Lion, and iCloud available today! I know it's not likely but one could hope. :D

No, you're wrong. It will run on any Core 2 Duo Mac, just in the 32-bit kernel.

Will Apple live stream this event?

As of right now :apple: has not announced anything (so as of right now: no they are not live streaming the event).

However, :apple: has in the past announced live streaming at the last minute (20 minutes before the event).

Keep on checking the Apple homepage and stay hopeful.

Come on :apple: PLEASE stream this event....

I would have to look up the quote from Apple, but I know I read somewhere where it says, "Any Core2Duo that currently runs SL in 64-bit mode". Now, it could be for 64bit Lion and thus would run in 32 bit mode for those of us without 64 bit machines. BUT I also thought that Lion was 64 bit only.

Here is some info from here : http://www.tuaw.com/2011/02/24/mac-os-x-lion-developer-preview-released/

you'll need a 64-bit Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later.

I know they are talking about the developer version, and where I must have read it; I don't know about the release version because after reading this I stopped trying. :(

It's not 64 bit only. All Core 2 Duo processors can run 64 bit applications, but not all Macs with Core 2 Duos support the 64-bit kernel. In any case, Lion will install and run on ANY Mac with a Core 2 Duo processor.

They won't be officially supported, but you can make Lion work on a Core Duo :p
