Got permanently suspended recently and was told it was because my account was deemed to not be authentic—an untrue claim.

85% of my posts was replying to or liking art or something I deem to be well designed.

Incidentally, this ban came after two tweets recently where I was asking why there are so many bot accounts on the platform. I deem it to be greater than 50% of all accounts now. This may be the case on all platforms, but X was my go-to so I noticed it.

When I tried to appeal I was told I was manipulating the platform, without explanation—another untrue claim by X.

Seventeen years and 320 followers. What was my goal of this apparent manipulation exactly? To be ignored and get no followers? My posts would regularly get between none and one or two likes.

After my second appeal and them answering none of my questions and explaining nothing, they said the decision is now final, I am not allowed to setup any new accounts and they will no longer be monitoring this inbox.

Now just imagine every facet of your life was plugged into one of these apps. Off like a switch.

So their fake user detection system is so f’d at this point that it detects genuine users as bots and bots as real people, lol.

If you have to go there, delete the app and just use it in your browser. Less harvesting of data like your location, and good browser extensions can block a lot of the ads. Every time I go check it for my weather feed, I get asked to confirm my email since I supposedly* removed it, but that's a different thing.

*I deleted it, and yet it lists most of it in the popup when it asks to confirm it. If I lived somewhere with real consumer privacy I'd be tempted to file complaints at them obviously mishandling data, but I live in Texas. (Which also explains why I keep a multi-source weather feed.)

Or just use https://xcancel.com/ for when you really need to use it.

Use this extension to be automatically redirected away from twitter so you don’t have to take a shower after in case you end up there:

Simplify your browsing with Redirect Web. Give it a try!

And I appealed twice and a real employee (apparently) wouldn't treat me like a real person and have the decency to answer any of my questions. It would seem to be by design.

Oh yeah I deleted the app when he made it that heinous X logo. Now I only use it in the browser for…research. 🥸

That's how I feel about iCloud and the App Store. I recently read about a guy who had been banned from submitting apps to the app store *before he ever tried to do so* and they wouldn't tell him why or fix it

X has more bots than ever. X booted me and wouldn’t do me the decency of answering any of my questions in my appeals beyond vague canned answers that are not in the least true. If they treated me like a human they’d quickly figure out they are in the wrong.

Literally every major account in the replies is inundated with the spammiest spam bots imaginable, including many auto-posters who are clearly using keyword triggered automated posting software and many such accounts never get banned. Crypto scam accounts probably make up double digit percentage of all accounts, and they’re posting nonsense day-in day-out, feigning interest in the topic and then you click info their account and it’s clear a bot account and still they don’t get canned.

I’m not entirely sure what the game is here, but someone high up in X is either creating the bots themselves, or at the least they want them to be there. There are many common bots that do similar things and it would be trivial to stop them spamming up everyone’s replies. Unsure who is benefitting from it, but it’s clear someone there wants them to be there.

Oh, and it’s over two years now and Elon still hasn’t opened up the algorithm for scrutiny as he promisedt. He also said he’d publish the list of words that if posting would encourage the algorithm to penalise your account. This he also never did. I’m not implying other platforms are much better. I’m criticising the platform I used. Reddit, for example, is also heavily botted.

This was especially noticeable to me back when the Queen in the UK died, felt like a lot of bots were searching for the word “republican” and jumping in to rant about “the dems”.

The queens death made UK republicanism a popular topic (republican as in wants to get rid of the monarchy and make the UK a republic). So many tweets I saw referencing British republicans were inundated with replies ranting about Hillary Clinton and Obama despite having absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Prior to that I’d seen similar happen when discussing British politics. We have a party literally called “The Conservative Party” and you’d get similar replies ranting about the American democrat party when you're trying to discuss the conservatives in the UK, if you replied to them to let them know you weren’t talking about American politics you’d receive another lengthy rant about the American democrats in the space of a second.

Long time since it was first announced. Glad to finally see it. Not sure whether I will use it but will give it a try. Grok AI widget might be more useful.

Three years ago. It's even worse now. Perhaps much worse. I'm estimating at least over 50% of accounts. Let's just say I don't believe it's only spam and small timers running these masse operations.
