Most of the gestures on the X are very intuitive and make life easier. Which one do you find yourself liking the most and which one, not so much?

For me, swipe left or right on the bar to quickly change apps is amazingly fast and intuitive. By far my favorite new gesture.

My least favorite so far would be closing apps from the app switcher. I wish they would eliminate the long press before swiping up. Seems like an extra unnecessary step to me.

Hopefully some others will chime in and I might learn of a gesture I don’t yet know.

Dislike: swipe from the right ear for control center.

I don't know why people have such a hard time with this gesture, it seems easy for me, and my thumb seems regular, right?

Switching apps with the bottom of the screen bar is truly marvellous

Closing apps is annoying

Least favorite : cc top right
Favorite: swipe up (so much more natural than jailbreak gestures for swipe up)

I like them all except the method to pull up open apps and force quit them. Yes, I know force quitting apps is not normally needed but it is if it's acting up.

Fav - Swipe up to go home and also one tap to unlock without waiting for Face ID's padlock to unlock.

Least Fav - Swipe down right ear for Control Center. Screen is too tall for my right thumb to reach it. Should be on the bottom right instead or corner like Android's Lazy Swipe app.

Mine is doing the same thing. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere as well. Not a big deal for me as I rarely use control center but it does seem random and inconsistent.

One tap to unlock?
Aha sorry I realise it was the wrong thread to post on

A quick swipe up and left to right will summon app switcher without swipe up and hold for a few moments
He’s speaking of closing apps once you’ve swiped up for the app switcher. You have to long press to bring up the option to delete. It’s an unnecessary step

Ah yes agreed

The swipe up on cards is much preferable

I wouldn’t doubt seeing Apple restore this functionality in a later update

Cus the current method is silly

I don’t know how many times I’ve swiped up instinctively after bringing up the app switcher to have it just go back to the home screen.

There's actually an even faster way to do this. Just swipe up from the bottom about a quarter of an inch, pause for a split second, then let go. You should get some haptic feedback and multitasking opens instantly. Looks like this: https://streamable.com/38nl9
I actually think the swipe up and to the side is quicker and more smooth. Probably just a preference.
[doublepost=1510797829][/doublepost]I like your screen name btw. Probably my favorite military aircraft ever. It’s kind of a toss up between the A-10 and the SR71

Current app switcher is a huge waste of space. It should also show your most frequently used control settings and the now playing songs. Maybe your 4 highest control centred icons would be one row and the music control buttons below that.

Like:-

- Swipe up for home
- Swipe left/right on the home bar for switching apps
- Tap to wake
- Swipe down on home bar for Reachability

Dislike:-

- Swipe down from the top right for Control Center
- Press and hold on recent app list to reveal the force close button / enable to swipe up to force close

Terrible:

- Press and hold on the previous power button (now side button) only summons Siri with no way to shut down unless pressing and holding the volume up together with the side button for a specific amount of time but not too long which will trigger the Emergency countdown with a loud siren.
[Alternative: go to Settings, General, Shut Down]

- The dance (Konami code?) involving pressing volume up and then volume down and then hold on to the side button to force reboot. (and where is the DFU mode? I totally have no idea)

Edit: Just found the steps for DFU mode. Is it written in Klingon?

How to Enter DFU Mode on iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

Note: Make sure your computer is running the latest version of iTunes.

Step #1. Connect your iPhone X, 8 or 8 Plus to your computer and launch iTunes.

Step #2. Now, turn off your iPhone as usually. (Go to Settings → General → Shut Down → Swipe the slider to the right.)

Step #3. Press and hold the On/Off button on the right side of your device for 3 seconds.

Step #4. Then, press and hold the volume down button on the left side of your device while still holding down the side button.

Step #5. Keep holding both buttons for 10 seconds.

Note: If you see Apple logo on the screen, you will have to follow the steps as mentioned above again. Hence, make sure not to hold the buttons for too long.

Step #6. Next, release the On/Off Button but continue to hold the volume down button for about 5 seconds.

Note: If you see “Plug into iTunes” screen, it means you have entered your device in Recovery Mode. You will have to follow the steps all over again. Therefore, make sure not to hold the button for too long.

Step #7. If your device' screen stays black, that means it has successfully entered DFU mode.

I think people who have used Android phones have a little easier time with this one.

It’s not that.

This new gesture is a downgrade.

FWIW, I don’t like having those toggles as a swipe down gesture on my Galaxy S8+ either.

Apple’s original implementation of control center was perfect as it was.
