Can anybody else replicate this? Every time I use my shoulder to hold the X against my ear without my hand (the way you’d do with an old wired phone receiver) the person on the other end can’t hear me whatsoever. Like I’ve hit the mute button. Yet I pull it away and they can instantly hear me and the phone isn’t muted?!
It’s really strange. I must’ve done that with my old iPhones because it probably happens out of habit once every call now. I’m usually at my desk and need both hands temporarily to grab something.
The bottom of the phone isn’t getting covered in any way. Is there some kind of sensor at the top, in the notch area, back or front, that would cause this to happen when pressure is applied up there against the shoulder? It’s really strange. Only thing I can think is that possibly I’m covering up several noise canceling mics and confusing the phone. Or that maybe the mute button has some kind of press and hold behavior I don’t know about where a long press by my ear would mute me but not stay muted when pulled away.
