For all those saying that the 8 is the same design.

The X is the same design expect a notch and no button.

IPhone 3GS to the 4 to the 6 were larger design changes.

I don't understand this point of view. How does it look the same when the front is completely different, as well as the back? If you're talking about the shape or silhouette of the phone, well... all phones nowadays just look like a slab of glass and metal.

The bezels and home button (and whole design of the front part of the device) were removed. That doesn't count o_O.
When people look at a phone, they look at the front. Think about it. The X definitely looks different than a 6...

But the back is very similar to the 8. So it’s an IPhone 8 In a 6S case with an 8 no button and a notch.

Samsung phones have a curved display though.

but they all had the same front, only a different size. the X is the first iPhone with a different front. which makes it the biggest change of any iPhone.

They could have changed the over all shape maybe made it more square like IPhone 4?

So you're discarding the fact that the whole front of the device looks different, and instead arguing that the back looks the same? You can't have it both ways.

Well they changed the home button a few times with the silver band and the 7 home button and new FaceTime cameras.

People moan the 8 is basically a 6 but the X is basically a 6 case minus home button and the notch. The side of the phone in particular is the double of the 6.

Also, the back has a vertical camera, is glass, etc. It in no way looks exactly the same.

Every phone is a rectangle.

There has never been a design change.
