Is it normal that it is taking 2+ hours to install disc one of X-Plane 9 in Windows XP on my new octocore mac pro with 8800GT graphics.

If you're loading the entire world scene files then yea, I'm not surprised at the time. It took ages when I installed it on OSX - not sure it was 2 hours for one disc though.
