C'mon Austin, spin offs like the helicopters are fine, but if you're going to charge original x plane iphone people twice the amount, can't you at least compensate us with another plane or two (or four? please :D).

If anyone here knows his email I'll send him one.

    Try their website...

www.x-plane.com...However, from some of the posts I 've read, Austin isn't the most accommodating from a customer service standpoint. If you don't like his way, it's the highway.

    Good luck!

$10 is not nearly enough to make an app like X-Plane. As an iPhone developer I can tell you I would have charged around $40 for it. And actually, Austin is a good guy, he's just a realistic businessman, and X-Plane is his livelihood. Can't blame him one bit.

Austin keep up the good work.

I'm not complaining about the $10, and I would have gladly paid more, but I would have bought the $5 airliner version first if I could have.

It's definitely the best demo app available for the iPhone/iPod. Oh, the new iPod nano has an accelerometer too, I heard ;).

I too shared the same sentiment. I would rather have the airliner version than the original. But I continue to learn that being an early adopter of anything to do with the iphone seems to end up like this. I don't think the iphone seems a bit limited memory wise anyway. I just wish the icons didn't all look the same.

Hey! On the X Plane iPhone web site I noticed two more planes were planned for the $10 X Plane!

Sorry for the unnecessary post, I'll read better next time!:D

I still think this dude is kind of a douche for not including these (airliner and helicopter) as updates to the original LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD!!!!!

I mean come on, you didn't even try to make the original game any better...

Should have been a free update to Xplane, which is an unfinished PoS which hasn't gotten the promised updates.. He will never get another cent of my money.

That's a load of bollocks. It was thrown together in a week with handholding from Apple.
I wish he had set the price at $40 so I and many others wouldn't have wasted our money on a tech demo with no gameplay.

Those of you demanding more planes in the original, or the helicopters and airliners in the original rather than separate apps, must not have read the development blog. He *wanted* to add all these things to the original, but ran into technical issues. The game ran out of memory - apparently the game has to preload all the airplanes into memory so you can switch whenever you want, and there was only enough memory for around 4 of them (he says he freed up RAM when making the airliner version, so maybe that was what allowed him to finally add the final two to the original game). And you can tell the game is already using a ton of memory, because it's one of those games that likes to crash to the Home screen if you haven't rebooted your system recently (the system does that when running low on memory).

And keep in mind, these add-ons aren't "better" than the original. The original will always get all the technical updates from the addons, and he says it may even get the advanced instrumentation from the airliner version.

Oh Please... He's just making excuses... There's no way that PoS uses the full amount of RAM.... He's just some assface developer who can't listen to what people want or keep his promises.

I think that it's worth it. Developing is pretty hard, and all the work he put into each app is an awful lot. One thing that would make the app(s) great would be the ability to download planes from the internet.

I agree with what he says, all together all his apps will probably be equal to what the real X-Plane is worth.

I don't have a problem with his concept of releasing it in pieces. I just have a problem with the fact that he originally said these would be free updates to the people who bought the first x-plane. What I think he should do is offer a discount code to the people who have the first x-plane so that they can add on the smaller "pieces" for a cheaper price. I would be fine with that. But paying full price for it seems like a slap in the face after he said they would be free.

    Get my point?

There are at least places to fly to. The iPhone is a crude flying interface to the point where having multiple planes is practically meaningless, but a larger map and more airports are needed desperately (and were promised actually).
