X Plane demo - deliberately missing scenery?

Is it the case that the demo version of this flight sim has no, or little scenery?

For example, most of the airports I am choosing are surrounded by sea, but not always with an aircraft carrier in it.

Yet the demo started off with lots of scenery and mountains in particular.

Ive noticed that if I start playing and theres just ocean, I just change the location to mars and then right back to earth and the scenery reappears.

I noticed the same thing when I ran the demo. I figured it took the scenery away after a certain number of days using the demo.
Anyway, just buy the whole program. It is a bargain at $20.

If I recall the demo is just one area. If you buy the program and install the whole scenery package it's 80GB
