I'm having big issues with X11 in 10.6.2 at the moment... when I launch X11.app, it just hangs & does nothing - Activity Monitor shows X11.app and X11.bin being open but the GUI doesn't open whatsoever...
It's probably related to the fact that I've had a couple of different X11 alpha & beta versions on my machine recently (which I got from http://static.macosforge.org/xquartz/downloads/SL/), but I'm trying to go back to the stock X11 from the Snow Leopard DVD... I've tried:
- "uninstalling" X11 by using the instructions here
- Reinstalling Xcode & X11 from the Snow Leopard DVD
- Reinstalling 10.6.2 combo update
Any ideas on what else to try? I would like to avoid something drastic like a system reformat/reinstall
