I have a X800 XT flashed and it is not working (i have used a USB-Rom flasher).

The ROM i have used is the reduced X800 XT ROM (The Mac Elite)

But I'm not sure if the card is compatible. Perhaps someone can help.

The cooler is not the original

If more infos needed, please tell me.

sadly no the card will only ever function as a dual VGA card with the Mac ROM

to get working DVI you need a FireGL X3

I have a FireGL X3 but the problem is that the X3 has only 12 shader. Looks like the ROM is a simple X800XT ROM without modified shader number. The X800XT has 16 shaders.

I think with this ROM you will activate the last 4 shader. This shader can be defective or ok. This is a 50/50 chance.
My 4 shader units must be defective, because i get artefacts.

from what I have seen, the Mac ROM enables all 16 shaders (either that or the Official mac cards have 12? LOL)

as the FireGL X3 benchmarks identically to the X800 XT/X850 XT Mac cards (when flashed with those respective ROMs)

what VRAM does your FireGL X3 have? you generally need Samsung VRAM for the Mac ROM to work due to its tight timings that offten dont work with the other brand of slower VRAM some FireGL X3's have

if it does have samsung RAM but still artefacts then that at least confirms to us that the Mac ROMs do enable all 16 shaders :)

you could try adjusting the clock speed to see if it will stop artifacting

No, the standard FireGL X3 is using only 12 PIXEL SHADER units, the X800XT is using 16

Million years ago^^ it was normal to buy a mid range GPU sometimes the shader units were defektive.

The X3 ROM from the Macelite page has an overclocked RAM (475 MHz), but the X3 normal speed is 452 MHz. I would say the RAM brand is not he problem, Samsung is just more overclockable.
By the way my ROM was modified to the standard clockings of a X3 (GPU 491 MHz, Memory 454 Mhz) but artefacts, also with 400Mhz.

But Ram of my X3 is form infinion

On this page the Tester hast a X3 with Samsung RAM and artefacts, and a X3 with Infineon that work without artefacts

This is why i prefer the Shader theory ^^

Now i will test lower clock speed ;P

Is here anyone i can ask about ROM editing and change the timing to 2 ns? In an other forum if readed it is possible, but change the checksum. So you need an external flasher (no problem for me^^)

The thread is form 2012 so i don't think this guy know what he has done so long time ago.
