Sorry, bumping an old thread, but it's useful to know that your fan noises are bound to be the bearings wearing out; cheap fans only last a couple of years. 🙁

I've also had to have Apple replace my X800XT after the fan got really 'grindy' , it seems the fan bearings are of very poor quality. Still, it's quiet for the most part
