I'm having great difficulty getting my apache server to display the website stored on my mac to the internet. I can access it via http://localhost and I have port forwarded both ports 80 and 443 to my local ip address (which is static). Xampp is running and when I get my global ip address from www.ipchicken.com and paste it in the URL bar, nothing loads. The progress bar just stays at 20% or something and hangs.

Do I need to edit any files anywhere that are blocking access to Apache or something?

I have also tried enabling and disabling OSX's firewall with no results.

Captain obvious here, but are you sure it's not your router, the one blocking external access?

Could well be, how can I check? Also seems very likely as it doesn't work on Windows either.
