XBMC novice help please

Can anyone give me an IDIOTS GUIDE to getting xbmc via atv2 to access my buffalo linkstation live, macbook air and dell laptop please?

Am playing with the menus but really don't know where to go with this. Need someone experienced in xbmc to point me in the right direction. Thanks.
