XBMC or Boxee

I got my dad an aTV for Christmas and would love to put Plex on there, but that won't work. So, Boxee or XBMC? I see a lot of Boxee posts, why not XBMC?

Neither are as good as the ATV software for high-def playback. Seems the Apple TV was the first to leverage the gpu for decoding. XBMC and presumably Boxee do not. Those Apple engineers are sneaky.
