Hi - I just received my wireless xbox controller but won't be receiving the console until next week. Have a couple of games on my Mac hard drive and downloaded the controller driver for mac but it wont recognize my wireless controller even with it plugged into via the USB.

I really don't want to buy the wireless toggle since I will rarely use it once the console arrives - has anyone else come across this issue and any solutions? I don't need it to work wirelessly - just while its in the USB.

Since it is a wireless controller, I am going to assume the USB cable you are plugging in is the Play & Charge kit. This is all that it is. It charges the controller while allowing you to play. There is no data sent over the cable whatsoever. That is why they have the wireless gaming receiver.

You are out of luck for using the controller with the Mac unless you get the receiver or a wired controller.
