afternoon all!

I was just wondering does the Xbox one need a certain type of external HD or different cables? It will literally just hold games on it as my Xbox is near on full.

any recommendations would be helpful.

thanks in advance

No any USB 3 drive will do. Your xbox one will format the drive to the appropriate format. I bought seagate's xbox one drive simply because i liked the colour scheme & branding, but could have saved €30 just buying their standard 2tb USB 3 portable drive.

Excellent cheers mate"!

You can move them over. Go into your games panel, choose the game and hit the "Options" key and click on "Manage"
I see so if you were on near full storage on the Xbox you would to need to shuffle it over the external HD, then the game you wanted to play from the external HD to Xbox one?

I've had no issues running games off of external drives. I currently have 3 portable usb 3.0 drives (2.5TB total storage on them) hooked up.

Make sure you get plenty of space b/c now that they are releasing Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One as well my system is getting near full :)
