afternoon all!
I was just wondering does the Xbox one need a certain type of external HD or different cables? It will literally just hold games on it as my Xbox is near on full.
any recommendations would be helpful.
thanks in advance
Excellent cheers mate"!No any USB 3 drive will do. Your xbox one will format the drive to the appropriate format. I bought seagate's xbox one drive simply because i liked the colour scheme & branding, but could have saved €30 just buying their standard 2tb USB 3 portable drive.
Thanks for all the advise, can you run the games for the external HD? Or do they have to be transferred across?
I see so if you were on near full storage on the Xbox you would to need to shuffle it over the external HD, then the game you wanted to play from the external HD to Xbox one?You can move them over. Go into your games panel, choose the game and hit the "Options" key and click on "Manage"

Got you!You can play any game from any external drive on the XBox One. The drive HAS TO BE USB 3.0 connected and formatted to the XBox One.
