Xcode 4.2 Download Problem

I'm having trouble with downloading Xcode 4.2 from the app store. Specifically the download gets all the way to 1.8gb downloaded, and then after a short time starts all over again. This has happened multiple times now.

I currently have Xcode 4.1 installed and the Xcode installer for that version is still in Launchpad. I'm still a bit new to mac/xcode so forgive my ignorance. Has anyone had the same problem, or any suggestions for fixes? Thanks.

I had the same exact problem. What I had to do was delete the old "Install Xcode" app in the Applications directory so that it appeared as uninstalled in the Mac App Store. Additionally I did a hard restart.

I had the same issue and on the third try it successfully downloaded.
