I have a question about Lion and how it operates. I just spent most of the day doing an install of LION. Ran into some weird problems...

WARNING prior to install of LION make sure no application are set to show up in a specific space and hen remove all spaces from your system LION does not utilize them and does not like them.

My issue is this ,prior to LION I had xcode 3.6 installed and working fine I then upgraded to LION and test my xcode install and it works just fine. I need this as we have some application with a modfied setup and may need to go back to it to rebuild certain Apps I also need to install 4.1 for development of new Apps that utilize frameworks only available in 4.1. Xcode 4.1 is downloaded installed from the MAC App Store and what I need to know PRIOR to my doing this install is:

If under LION and installing from the MAC App Store, am I able to modify or change the default install directory/location prior to the install.

when using Snow Leopard I installed xcode from DMG files and could modify the default location but the process changes significantly in LION and I can not determine if it will be as flexible as Snow Leopard.

As stated I need to protect this original install of xcode 3.6

Thanks for your help
