When i use xcode, it doesn't have the standard cocoa touch application that many other people have. Instead, it has navigation-based application, OpenGL ES application, tab bar application, utility application, view-based application and window-based application. So, i'm not sure where to start, since most other people have the cocoa touch application template already. I've already tried reinstalled the SDK many times, but it still doesn't work... i hoped i reinstalled it correctly... just dragged the whole developer folder to the trash and emptied it. Can somebody please help me?

Sounds right to me. Only Interface Builder ever had a template for Cocoa Touch as far as I know.

uninstallation is probably not as simple as dragging things to the trash... the SDK readme has destructions at the bottom -- requires a terminal window with sudo /Developer/Library/etc...

Then I reboot, install the SDK and for good measure reboot again. The uninstall process cautions about rebooting if you're going to be installing an older version of the SDK, so just in case, I reboot!

Oh -- it is assumed you're installing on an intel mac, if you do the install on a PPC you don't get the aspen simulator or much of anything associated with iPhone. I haven't tried lately, but I'd suspect that the templates for cocoa touch won't install to a PPC.
