Best to avoid XFX. The two brands with best compatibility I've found is Sapphire and Gigabyte.

Thanks, I'm guessing the other brands are not offering a single slot config though. :(

So I got the card, tried it, does not work. :(

The XFX AMD cards are known to not work in OS X, across several of their models including HD 7xxx, R9, and now RX4xx too. Something about a custom BIOS. Fl0r!an mentions it here in his excellent Radeon guide.

I think the HIS would be a better bet than the XFX, but no promises of course since I think you'd be the first to test. (As you often are.)

So how many monitors are you using these days? 9? 10? 11? ;)

Sapphire released a full version of the RX460, today. So, it has all 1024 SP's, 16 CU's, like, the AMD Pro WX4100 and the AMD Radeon Pro 460 that is an option in the new 2016 MBP's, albeit, higher-clocked....

I have the Gigabyte RX460 4GB VRAM and it works OOB in my mid-2010 MP...

I wonder if this will work, as well, OOB...

Here's the article link:

Thanks namethisfile. However, the attraction to the XFX is that it is a single slot card and the Sapphire one looks like it will take up a good part of a 2nd slot.

These single slot RX 460 cards will be great replacement cards for dead HD 5770/GT120.

I will attempt to flash the vBIOS on my Sapphire RX 460 this weekend to unlock the additional stream processors. http://overclocking.guide/amd-radeon-rx-460-unlocking-1024-stream-processors/
theitsage, did you ever get to flash your card? Any joy?

HIS has a non-reference board based single slot 460 as well:

Has anyone had a chance to try this card? Would really appreciate any reports.

The HIS card works (DVI not tested), sadly i have to return it - found not a *single* EU or US seller and HIS does not sell lower qty's (50+) or review models (like this, belongs to someone else).

If someone knows Taiwanese/Chinese we might be able to locate a local seller (HIS is HK based but manufactures in CN and TW), TW/HK has PayPal and shipping to US is rather painless.

4 on a 480 (Slot 1) and 2 on the 460 (Slot 4):

Will you consider the WX5100? It's also single slot, more powerful than the RX460, more VRAM, also no aux power required, and tested able to work as eGPU.

Definitely a nice card but it is rather expensive given it's performance. Single slot is great though.

Agree. Do you know if there is any single slot card more powerful than this one? If this is the best, then I think it has the reason to ask for more.

WX is expensive because it is a workstation card, it has nothing to do with size.
