That MacBook clone looks extremely tempting as a linux machine. Though I'm an Apple purist for the reliability of their notebooks, not because they're 'pretty'. Every wintel machine I've ever been tempted by has broken down after month 13. Not falling for this.

That's where you're wrong - it may look like Apple but it will never feel like Apple. I've used enough Windows PCs made by the Chinese to realize that the best they can do is produce a general look-alike. But they can't catch the feel of the design. They're just not good at it.

Witness the fall of the Thinkpad - I used to be a huge fan of those. After Lenovo purchased them their quality and price have gone down steadily. First machines were still designed by IBM engineers and you could tell that. Then they started cheapening them up and succeeded to the point where the last Lenovo I played with - a T440S laptop made cringe. It's was a cheap-feeling flimsy piece of junk much like most other Chinese laptops. So the Chinese are good at making cheap computers but they're definitely NOT good at making a quality product. They just don't know how to do it properly because they want to cheap out as much as possible.

The publicity shot is false advertising and not surprising for habitual liars.
Its all a big con, bait and switch and all that.
The amount of bezels on the side is about the the same as the actual Iphone.
Does that means the camera is in the bottom, that seems a bit inconvenient?

Yes it is. Besides the exact some curved sides as the iPhone 6 and 7, besides the exact same colors as the iPhone 6 and 7, look even at the speaker grill -- a series of drilled holes, just like the iPhone 6 and 7.

Just be honest -- whenever Apple introduces new industrial design elements, these knockoffs copy them. Why does it hurt you to admit that?

You may need glasses. If you think these phones look similar, there's nothing I can do to help you or dissuade of that notion. Exact same curves? You be the judge. Exact same colors? Uh, it comes in black and white. Drilled holes? You got me there. They copied the drilled holes.

Meh... The real one is the Huawei book. A full i7 U passive cooled design is amazing. Crazy to see the Chinese running circles around everyone when it comes to Mobile computing.

Admittedly, that is one sweet little laptop that I would also definitely consider if it ran macOs. My only hesitation would be build-quality, and corners cut like you see on so many other lower priced items and knock-off accessories, which makes me appreciate a premium priced item with an iron-clad warranty that much more.
