"MIUI" which is a heavily skinned version of Android
Xiaomi first become famous not because of their phone but because of their MIUI
because Chinese user do not like stock Android at that time from other Android OEM
so Xiaomi made custom Android ROM called MIUI for user to bootload
so people in the West maybe do not like MIUI, but MIUI is pretty popular in China, India and Southeast Asia

Hilarious that Xiaomi's ad campaign is a direct lift from Samsung with the blending of the background and phone screen.

Well that’s dumb. All the preparation and work that goes in to a product launch only to have everyone completely forget about it 1 day later

Ah, no. That won’t be happening. Barely a mention.

Not even a “nice try” on this one...

What's funny is Xiaomi thinks they're being clever and that by doing this they will steal Apple's thunder.
In reality their release will get lost in the shuffle while everyone will instead be waiting to see what Apple is releasing the next day. :D

Indeed. The real problem for apple might begin the day after that, when both have been unveiled.

I am not saying every xiaomi phone have terrible build quality. Mi mix was well build. I have mi max 2 and the build quality is lower compared to iPhones. The screen pops out even with slight bend

Here is a famous video of jerryrigeverything performing bend test on mi5

What's so special about this phone? Yeah it's easy to make a top bezeless phone if you remove everything from the top.

Am I the only one that got the Meow Mix jingle stuck in my head after reading this article?

Once again, French designer Philippe Starck is said to have worked with Xiaomi on the Mi MIX 2,

Apple fans will recall that Starck is the designer of Steve Jobs' yacht.

Hilarious that Xiaomi's ad campaign is a direct lift from Samsung with the blending of the background and phone screen.

Not surprising though.

It's just like with Infinity Pool designs. Ads are necessarily going to look similar in order to show off the feature.

Check movie with test Mi Mix from the same reviewer guy, looks like better quality than iPhone 6/7

If it comes pre-loaded with iOS and supports full integration with all of my other Apple products then I'll buy this instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since it is Android, can't you install a custom launcher as Nova launcher or Google native launcher whatever its name is!

You can definitely do that, but that won't turn MIUI into anything else. I mean, the insides of the system are Android, but the user space has nothing to do with AOSP (pure Android). Nothing. Not a single screen.
Believe me, I use both.

thats breaking - completely destroyed

iPhone 6's bend but dont break like that piece of !
I remember seeing videos with iPhones almost folded in half. All in all, it doesn't really matter what device bends more. They are both bad design and poor QC.

Because it uses a LCD screen and therefore it needs a light source, which is placed in the bottom. No need for a light source with OLED screens.

Handheld LCDs haven't used an edge light source in years.

Nowadays they use a flat light panel, often made with white LEDs. E.g.
