OK, So I created the partition fine using Boot Camp, XP seemed to install OK but when the system does the initial restart, it tries to boot from disk and complete the setup all over again.

I have also done it with the drive unplugged but its just loading OS X and not giving me any option to boot XP...

I can see the "untitled" disk in OS X and it contains some or all Windows files...

Any ideas?

Hold down the option key on startup and choose the boot camp partition.

Yeah tried that and it just boots into OS X. I had a look at the Start Up Disk in Sys Prefs and there is only OS X...no mention of Windows.

Done the installation twice and I'm getting the same results.

Are you given the option to format the partition?
Or does it skip that step?

Yeah the step is there and have formatted it with a FAT32 as it's only a 10GB partition...only need to run a few apps for work so not too bothered by the space.

I'm going to have another play tonight and see what I cant sort...may install rEFIt and see if that helps to promt the selection.
