Not really effective as it doesn't do anything to solve the problem.

1. The solution to this is covered by Apple Support.

Windows 7 thinks my iPhone 4 and iPad are cameras, I can understand the iPhone, but the iPad... A Camera? 😕

But I plug mine in so little it doesnt bother me, the only thing I dread is iTunes locking up for about 45 seconds whenever I plug something in.
