I'd like to clone (probably using Winclone) a windows XP32 bootcamp partition I have on a MacBook onto a spare 2.5" HDD, and install that into my 2009 MacPro. I've got the OWC kit to mount the drive in the spare optical bay, but would like to know if there are any problems with this from the software side of things? Also, will the cloned HDD be bootable/recognisable by just plugging in, or do I have to do something in bootcamp to make it so? And are the drivers the same (it's a 2008 macbook) i.e. as the bootcamp drivers are already installed in the XP32 on the MacBook, will the same ones work on the Pro?

Thanks!

I didn't use the Boot Camp utility at all, so I'm pretty sure you don't have to do anything with it. I just added a second drive for Windows, pulled my OS X drive (just to be safe), inserted Windows 7 DVD, and installed. Once that was all working, I reinserted the OS X drive and everything was great.

I don't know if the drivers are of the "unified" type where they work on all models. To be safe I'd attempt a reinstall of the boot camp drivers.
