Hi

I have done a little research into my question and not found an answer, or conflicting answers.

I got the XR in August 2019 new from Apple.

About a month ago I checked the battery and it was on 92%.

In the last month I have noticed the phone getting hotter and the screen going dim at the same time.

I checked the battery again today and it's down to 90%.

Is this an issue?

I have noticed lag in the phone recently and the battery running out quicker.

Would it be worth clearing off the old apps and pics I don't need and doing a full reset on the phone?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

With 90% battery life you shouldn’t see slow down due to battery as such. Have you restarted the device in a while?! Maybe try that before anything else.

Despite the battery health displayed on the phone you’ll probably be better off getting a replacement battery. You can try a factory reset, and a fresh install of iOS through your Mac or PC.

What sort of usage do you have with the phone? Anything in battery settings showing up as using an unusual amount of battery?

I am not sure what you mean by the second part?

Under the battery settings it should show which apps have shown the most usage of the battery. That might determine which app is causing the behaviour.

Thanks, nothing massive, just social medial, calendar, games, nothing major

Any suggestions? It's still at 90%
