iPhone XR XR bright white screen instantly when lock/unlocking?

My iPhone XR now flashes a solid bright white screen for half second when I tap or press side button to unlock phone. Very annoying.

I have done hard resets and went to settings and reset all settings.

anyone else experiencing this or know cause/solution?

Yes. I am tapping the screen to unlock the phone with my face.

Try a backup and restore from your computer not OTA, if that doesn’t do it then take it into Apple, as that’s not normal.
