Hey peeps,

Got my XS Battery case at the beginning of February, before I had the case my Battery health was 100%, had my XS since December. Since I have had the Smart case the battery health has dropped to 98% in 3 weeks, is this a cause for concern? My iPhone X which I had over a year was at 99% when I switched to the XS, my wife now who has my old X and its at now 98%. The rate that's going it would be at 78% by September.

Battery life drop is not linear. I've been following my battery life via coconutBattery since my 6+ days. That said, I've never owned a Smart battery case. People are showing battery health drops from using a Smart Battery Case, but I think that is because it just remains plugged in all the time. My guess is if you take your phone out of the case, drop it to 40% and back to 100%, the health will show 100%. Just an assumption on my part. But definitely interesting because you're not the only one that has reported this.

I highly recommend coconutBattery - check the design capacity vs capacity.

I had a very similar effect on my Xs that was 100% battery until 2 weeks after having the smart battery case on.

I was a slightly worried until examining the battery stats via coconut battery on my mbp, the phone battery is still reporting better than design capacity.

I think it’s the phone averaging out the combined capacity of its ‘new’ battery ie the total of both the internal phone and case battery together.

If you think about it the case battery is subject to the worse type of charging habits almost daily, ie full charge and then full discharge most days, so probably the case battery condition drops down to 90% or so quite quickly and then the phone starts to report the drop in condition.

These are just my thoughts and guesses, nothing more.
