The front facing camera does a MUCH better job with lighting now. However, it looks to smooth out skin/flesh tones? Is it applying a filter now?
Detail does not look as good now with selfies. The overall picture is better but face looks more smooth now. Anyone else notice this? I saw another thread on it but couldn’t find it.

That thread was me, and I notice it a lot. My boyfriend does. And a few tech reviews I've watched of the camera, it's really only the main complaint on the camera other than the blur adjustment blurring shirts and such too much. This selfie filter or what they call "softness" is very irritating and it happens a lot indoors and in low light. I truly hope they have an option to either turn it off, or apple updates it. It also does this in snapchat, instagram.. so I believe it's the new chip processing the image to do the "filter, less sharp low light selfies".

Yes, seems like a beauty filter OR the front came is less sharp :-(

Surprised we are not seeing many posts on this issue. Yeah, pics look much better but very soft now.

Check this video and see the difference between the XS Max and the X, I dont like what it's doing now on the XS on portrait photos, I was thinking about upgrading from my 8+ but now im not so sure because of what im seeing here:

Glad it’s being addressed. Hope Apple sees it.
