Just got my email that the iPhone XS Max has shipped. has anyone else gotten this?

Tracking the phone shows that it has shipped but is in South Korea. I just tried calling Apple and apparently the call volume is so high they aren't answering the phone (or at least aren't really open at the moment).

I'm a little worried since my girlfriend's phone shipped without any kind of error message.

Anyone else have a phone on hold?

I wouldn’t worry about it. The UPS system is so overwhelmed it can’t update fast enough. Apple’s tracking system goes by the UPS update and just holds everything until it updates. As long as it’s out for delivery tomorrow you’re good.

My XS Max shows the same thing while my XS shows that it’s being delivered tomorrow. Both of them show they are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow on the UPS site though. I spoke to Apple and they said they’ve been seeing a lot of people with this email and the rep said it looks like a mistake on Apple’s part since UPS still shows delivery for tomorrow. I’m skeptical though since I received an email a few minutes ago from UPS My Choice saying I have a delivery for tomorrow but it only included the tracking number for the XS and not the XS Max.

My order shows the same thing. I tried to contact apple as well and couldn’t get anyone on the phone. I hope it’s just a glitch.

I am in the same boat. My wife's XS Max shows fine, but mine doesn't. On UPS, though, it shows scheduled delivery for tomorrow by end of day.

I also called Apple and tried the chat support with both saying they couldn't be answered due to high call volume. That's more concerning than anything else. I'd rather wait on hold than just being told "Sorry, call back.".

I’m guessing everyone with this is calling in and slammed their system beyond even what the hold queue can handle. All incoming systems will still have so many lines.

I’m hoping it’s a system screw up as I have the same alert on my Max phone. The Korea scan was yesterday, so they are probably in transit to a hub in US and waiting to be scanned they were probably all loaded on a few different planes Korea to US.

Who's ready to bitch at UPS tomorrow if phones no show? Hopefully, it's all just website tracking delays, but Apple should withhold payment to UPS for performance penalties otherwise.

I got the same email this morning (actually 2 emails). UPS shows mine still in Korea. The status shows 9/21 delivery, but it now has a tentative flag next to the delivery date. Maybe a plane had trouble or weather delayed some flights. Most likely just a tracking system issue (I hope).

Apple should probably abide by its contract with UPS, regardless.

Same here. Two XS Max, one still in China, one in Korea. I got this hold message as well.

UPS tracking still says delivery tomorrow, but that seems pretty difficult at this point if it’s not even on the right continent yet.

In the same boat with you guys (and a mysterious Apple Care + Theft & Loss billing issue) but two UPS flights left Incheon about an hour ago. We've all got our fingers crossed over in another thread.

My sons is on hold. Also called the apple 800 number just to have the robot hang up on me after saying they were over capacity with calls.

There's a shipping update. Mine out of Incheon now has a departure scan and the Apple website no longer shows my order on hold.

In past years ups stopped updating the status.
Held at depot
Hold
Held by shippers request

Last year my phone went from destination scan arrival Chelmsford MA to delivered.
Nothing in between.

If your device was stateside by Wednesday it will be delivered tomorrow

I spoke to someone at Apple Customer Care and they said this is normal and not to worry. Check the UPS Site for updates and if the UPS site says delivery by 9/21 we will be getting the delivery.

First world problems! :)
