Not a chance, I am not gonna upgrade. I still love my XS Max. Since the camera is last on the list of my wishes when I am buying a phone, I do not see a reason to throw another $1000+. OK, 11 Pro Max has better battery, also. But battery life on XS Max is more than enough for me, too.
Would u throw $650 for 64gb iPhone pro 11 max/$799 for pro 11 max 256b?

att retentions gave $450 off on 2 year contract. Considering I’m paying $200/6 lines. $33/line for unlimited data plus free HBO plus hot spot plus getting $450 off the phone.

hard to pass up.
My wife took my xs Max 256gb i paid full price last year. Wish I had know about the $450 off last year as well it. $325 etf minus $10/month. So I save money even if I cancels the line. But I’m not leaving att anytime soon

love the 2 year contracts. Especially since I’ve been with att for 15 plus years. So $33/line. PLUS subsidized phones.

love it.

For me the camera and battery were the main reasons I upgraded. I travel a lot and end up stuck at airports so I'm loving the longer battery life. I went to Cairo for vacation last week and the night shots of the pyramids were awesome. I had a total stranger walk up to me and ask what kind of phone I had because he saw the pics were awesome at night.

have the xs max and got the 11 pro max and i honestly like the xs max better. it is less difficult to hold and there is just something about it holding them side by side that i prefer the xs max. i think the bezels on the 11 pro max are slightly larger as well but that’s nitpicking. the xs max is easier to hold and yes while it’s nice to say i get 10 hours screen on time on the 11 pro, honestly the 6 1/2 to 7 on the xs max is perfectly fine for me.

reception is the same on both phones, meaning there was no clear improvement in the 11 pro. like a previous poster said, the new cameras are nice, but the ultra wide angle is pretty much useless for me and the xs max has the telephoto which is more important to me anyway. i don’t shoot in 4k regularly so no biggie there.

i wanted to really like the 11 pro max but in the end, they are just too similar to spend the money. 3d touch on the xs max makes the new haptic touch work much faster than on the new phones also.

so yeah i think the 11 pro max will be going back and i’ll keep my xs max until next year.

I get what you mean, the XS Max seems to be more balanced in terms of size, weight and bezels, I’ve read a few posts like this.

I still need to okay with the 11 Pro in real life, I personally love the Camera design at the back, but yeah, won’t be buying it.

Still no. I am using those $650 to buy a nice 4K monitor. I would be tempted to upgrade ONLY if I had the X or earlier.

I saw the rumors for 2020 iPhone, and it's definitely worth the wait.

After reading comments here and elsewhere (in another thread I posted) I’ll likely make the upgrade on the sole fact that the 11 pro max runs cooler than the XS Max.

My phone will get way too hot in the sun and while charging, or gaming. It’s a big issue when the brightness is forced down to a level where you can’t see what your doing. Like guys, I can’t even snipe because I can’t see the enemy. Big issues.

So the fact that there is a higher brightness level (which I loved in store) and that this may solve many of my overheating issues. I’ll probably upgrade

After reading this comment, I still don’t understand why you are considering going back to the XS Max. You said you are enjoying the Pro Max and love the battery life.
Simple. Cost. Over the weekend I got a new sealed XS Max for literally half the price of the Pro. That's a lot of dough for me. Still deciding what I'm going to do.

just pulled the trigger on the 11 pro max via IUP. still debating whether to pay off my XS Max or turn it in to Apple. i was set in stone on not upgrading when they announced 11/11 pro, but the combination of these factors made me took the jump:

64GB storage of the XS Max
amazing 11 pro cameras and battery life
11 pro screen way brighter than xs max in daylight
the fact any pre-5G iphone's value will take a big hit when they launch the 5G iphone next fall, so had i kept my XS Max, it'll be difficult to fetch $500 being it's only 64GB and two generations behind

Just curious what previous max owners think about the new 11 Pro Max, obviously the camera and battery are significantly better... but any small things that you notice you think really makes it worth the upgrade?

Nope. It’s still very much of the same phone. I’m on the iUP and I just like having the latest tech. It makes me happy but it’s nothing but a luxury.

It’s actually much different than I thought. After upgrading and having it a couple weeks.

Battery was even better than my high expectations. Finally an all day phone.

camera is great, obviously. I’m finding that ultra wide lens is being used way more than I thought. In fact I’m finding way better shots on ultra wide than telephoto. Never thought I’d actually like ultra wide photographs.

The display is extremely bright. Like, I definitely don’t want it or think it can get brighter than this. The XS always felt like it could use a notch higher in brightness, the 11 pro seems perfect.

The colors on the display are noticeably more vibrant than the XS, even when the devices aren’t side by side. After a week I can really appreciate the deeper reds and greens.

The sound is louder and better on the speakers

It runs much cooler, as others have said. This is finally a device that can take a heavy game like call of duty mobile, and not get super hot.

Right now I have an 11 Pro Max and an XS Max that I'm using side by side. Two other things I've noticed in favor of the 11 Pro Max:

- the viewing angles on the XS Max are much narrower. Off-axis the colors shift very quickly.

- FaceID really does work better on the 11 Pro Max, in terms of not needing to be at just the right angle, having the phone more or less in front of your face. It's not like I can always have the 11PM unlock if it's on a desk or a table, but it does happen and it will unlock without having to put your face right in front of the camera. I think the reason is that the lens on the FaceTime camera on the 11s is a wider-angle lens than the XS.

Neither of these would be compelling reasons to upgrade, but they're nice.
