Hi guys, long time lurker, first-time poster. I've recently inherited an Xserve A1246 to add to my server cabinet. I have no real use for it apart from messing with it and playing with OSX, so I would like to set it up as a remote desktop server for OSX.

Now to be brutally honest I'm a bit stumped as to what to do to get the best out of it. I've read that to get a recent version of OSX on it I will need to upgrade the GFX card and edit some plist files, but to be fair I haven't the foggiest what I'm doing at the moment with it.

What I would like help with is......
1) what supported GFX cards I can buy to upgrade the server to be able to get OSX SIerra on it??
2) ANY help on how I'm going to go about installing a recent version of OSX on there....

Thanks

Recently the Geforce GTX 750Ti was available as a single slot, no additional power required GPU. I'd check to see if any of Nvidia's OEM partners have released a similar GTX 1050 or maybe even 1060.

Let us know how you make out.
