When the updated Mac Pro comes out this year, will the XServe be updated with it. And will the specs be pretty much the same?

They were updated at the same time last year so they could be. Obviously no one will know for sure until they are updated, but I guess that they are likely to be released at the same time.

It is possible, however unlikely, that Apple will choose to use Beckton with the XServe instead of Gainestown.

Of course, this brings many benefits, but at the loss of the ability to purchase one with less than around $5,000.
