I found my way to setting up a calDAV calendar in 3.0. I think it works fantastic and I'm excited to have a unified calendar system. The update goes very fast both ways, even on my grandpa Gen 1 iPhone. I would guess the Google calendar work much the same way.

This is direct from the yahoo help: ( http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/ca...ync-06.html;_ylt=Asi1tZpgmndZyq76SwbS8dJKiCl4 )
If you are running iPhone 3.0 software (released Summer of 2009) or newer, syncing calendar to your iPhone can be done without plugging into your computer.

1.Make sure you are using the Calendar Beta. If you go to http://calendar.yahoo.com do you see the words “Yahoo! Calendar Beta” in the top left corner? If you are not using the beta you can switch to it by visiting http://switch.calendar.yahoo.com
2.Go to your iPhone settings application.
    3.Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
    4.Tap "Add Account".
5.Tap "Other" and then tap "Add CalDAV Account".
6.For the "Server" you can simply type "yahoo"
7.Now type in the Yahoo! username and password you use to signin to your calendar
8.Once you click save, the iPhone will verify your username and password.
9.Next time you open up your iPhone Calendar you will see a page allowing you to select with Yahoo! Calendar layer you want to view/edit.

Do you know if it's possible to add also a MobileMe account and share contacts/calendar between yahoo/mobile me accounts ?
Have you tried also to add a Google account ?

I think you can. Yahoo says you can sync with iCal and google. syncing with iCal would natuarly synce you with mobile me. I don't use either of those so I haven't tryed them.

    From Yahoo help:
    Can I synce with Google
    Yes!

When you share your calendar with any user, that user will receive an email that will guide them through subscribing to your calendar.

Toward the bottom of that email, there will be a URL that looks like this:

    http://calendar.yahoo.com/yahoo-id/XXXXXX/CalendarName.ics?id=001.

Anyone using a calendar that supports the iCalendar or .ics formats can use this URL to sync to your Yahoo! Calendar.

I'm having a problem. I have the iPhone 3.0 software and when I try to connect to my yahoo beta calendar the iphone keeps saying "cannot connect using SSL". ANd I cannot connect. Am I doing something wrong? It then says CalDav account verification failed. I have tried this with three different yahoo beta mail accounts and each have failed.

    SSL error

I followed this FAQ to the letter and I get the error as the other two posts...
"Cannot connect using SSL - Do you want to try setting up the account without ssl?"
I read somewhere that I could just hit save, but then Calendar doesn't connect.
I know the connection info is correct as I setup iCal on my mac the same way and it was perfect.

I emailed yahoo but have not heard back yet.

    Any ideas?

If you're talking about adding a Google calendar via the CalDAV protocol, then refer to this thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=724114

    yahoo beta calendar

When I attempt to switch to the beta calendar at this link:

If you are not using the beta you can switch to it by visiting http://switch.calendar.yahoo.com

and click on "Get started" I get a new page which says "The new calendar doesn't work in my language". My browser is set to US English; I've tried Firefox, Opera & IE.

I've called Yahoo, ATT Yahoo, ATT wireless & Apple. No one has an answer - hopefully someone here might.
    Thank you.

just got the following email from yahoo -- seems they sent it to a bunch of people.

looks like they're into the problem. love the casualness of the email though.

    Hi!

We've received a few reports regarding an inability to sync with Yahoo! Calendar Beta. We have made some changes that will help us better understand why this might be happening. Could you please try setting up Yahoo CalDAV on the iPhone. It may not work but it will help reveal what the problem might be for you guys.

A reminder that the instructions can be found here

    Thanks

SSL error using CalDAV on the iPhone

    A couple of notes.

    - We've confirmed that there is an issue for some users in some network regions that prevents CalDAV sync setup on the iPhone on 3G or Edge. This does not seem to be Yahoo specific but for now the solution is to use wifi to get your events onto your calendar.
    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/calendar/yahoocalendar/sync/sync-06.html

    - A few users have reported that they were syncing fine when all of a sudden the events are not showing up on their iphone any longer. This is a known issue and a fix is going out in a few days to address this, don't worry, your events are safe.

Questions for soon to be Apple newbie

I was going to buy an Ipod Touch (when 64g comes out, September?), my first Apple product, and I have a few questions regarding the calendar.

1- I have a Yahoo calendar that I maintain online: with a Ipod Touch, I guess I can sync the calendar, but does that mean I have to be connected (WIFI) all the time to be able to see my calendar and events (like in the bus where no wifi exists)?
2- (perhaps depending on the first question/answer), can I edit the calendar without WIFI (add, modify, delete events) and then connect at home (wifi) and it will sync with my online calendar so it does my changes (that I did when I was in the bus) to the official online calendar?
3- This one is unrelated to the calendar but I can’t seem to have an official answer anywhere: can I see an email attachment (like excel, doc, pdf) without being currently connected to WIFI? I know I can when I am connected but once I opened up that email and attachment, does it stay in a “cache” for when I am not connected to WIFI so I can still see the email attachments like PDF, XLS, Doc, etc?

Thanks for helping me out! :)

Oh I have to try this. Just once. Not a Yahoo calendar fan but something to try. I was wondering what this CalDEV thing was in the first place. Thanks for all the info.

    1. You will be able to read your calendar with or without WIFI. If you make a change on the touch or online the two things will sync once you get a wifi connection.
    2.see above
3.Once you recieve the email on your touch it can be viewed with or with out wifi. I think you need to open the email itself to make it download an attachment. Once it is downloaded you will be able to view it without wifi.

Smart of you to wait for the new one, I'm guessing it will be amazing.

    CalDAV over Yahoo Calendar

This issue has been resolved. You can now sync using CalDAV over 3G or Edge networks. ATT has addressed the network glitch which was causing this.
