OK,

Is it possible to use my Yahoo mail account with mail.app? I have the free Yahoo account, and not Yahoo PLUS if this makes a difference at all. Any help or a tutorial would be great, thanks!

unfortunately I think not. perhaps you could have your yahoo mail forwarded?

yep! look in your yahoo mail preferences on the web. there should be an allow POP access option or something similar. then open mail and if you havent configured it already an add account window should pop up. if you have configured already go to File -> Add Account.

type in your name, yahoo email address and password and make sure "automatically set up account" is ticked and then click create. you should be good to go.

??

no, yahoo pop is NOT free, unless you are using mobile phones who have special arrangement with yahoo.

Heres what i did.

1. Go to Izymail and set up your account (really easy)

2. Open up mail > Add Account

for incoming mail server: in.izymail.com
for outgoing mail server: out.izymail.com

You only get 14 days of messages with the free version, but it's better than nothing.

Actually i just found out that izymail free is by trial only, after 45 messages it makes it plain text and other crap.

I suggest just getting Yahoo Mail Plus, i probably will now.
