You're right. Yahoo messenger for mac is crap. Adium lets you into chat rooms.

Yes, i agree but the old version that i have installed before upgrading to Lion was enough for my needs. For example now, i appear online when i am invisible, can't set my status...

    Any solutions for me ?

Yahoo itself is junk as a product and as a stock. Yahoo is still managed by people stuck in 1999.

If you use Adium how do you access Yahoo chat rooms?

Yahoo messenger pisses me off because I can't hear people in chat rooms on Mic's

I'm also a happy Adium user! After using Yahoo Messenger for a few years and putting up with its bugs, I started using Adium and I haven't looked back since. If you are used to Yahoo Messenger, it might take you a little bit to get used to Adium but if you give it a try, it will grow on you. It won't cost you anything to give it a try.
