One way sync

Its a one way only sync.

Notes composed on the iphone show up as an email msg in the Notes folder in your Yahoo!Mail. The Gmail sync is very similar, so no advantage there.

Not sure why this is so hard, maybe just not as much demand as for email, calendar or contacts.

Gmail notes are definitely 2 way. They can be re-edited on Mac Mail. There's just no Google implemented solution, just an Apple one.

What triggers a sync?

I discovered this function today by accident, when I found the Notes email folder on Yahoo's Mail page. A funny way to sync my iTouch notes, but I'll take it. So I experimented a bit: If I edit a currently existing iTouch note, within a few seconds, the change is duplicated over in Yahoo; but if I create a new iTouch note, so far--it's been several hours--that new Note hasn't popped up in the Yahoo Notes folder. But I know there must be some way it happens, because there are most of my other notes, in there, some only a few weeks old--and I sure don't remember creating them, over there.
So--what's making it happen?

Just in case someone reads this note and is misled: this malfunction apparently was temporary. Today I again created a new iTouch note, and within seconds it appeared in the Yahoo Notes folder. So all is well in this particular universe.

Temporary for only a little over 5 years?

;-) You have a point! No, I think it was temporary as in, hours or days. It's just that today I was looking into the same issue--I was wondering where my Notes are stored on the Web--and my Google search led me back here; I saw the note I had written, realized it was not correct, and made the change. The fact that you saw it so quickly tells me that at least one other person is following the thread.
