I'm surprised they are still around. I haven't had an email from a yahoo address for over a decade.

The folders don't work correctly. I just added an email to my insurance folder and when I checked Yahoo it went into a different folder
IMAP with Yahoo! and Apple mail used to be very bad. I have an old account that I keep around. It has gotten better as I now can delete email from Apple Mail. I haven't checked the web site to see if it actually updates the server though.

Edit: I just checked, and the Yahoo! web site it upadintg properly when using Apple Mail. It was a limited test, but it worked 😀

I tried it and for some reason no good.
I was going to try setting up another Gmail account to port over my yahoo emails but when I looked into it I read that I can only do this for 30 days so it doesn't seem like a permanent solution.

Where did you read that?

Tips:

  • After you import, Gmail forwards messages sent to your other account for 30 days.
  • Your new Gmail address is visible for 60 days, or until you delete the reminder.

I'm not sure that's a continuation of the steps to add the Yahoo account to the Gmail account. That's in a different section regarding abandoning an old email address for a new Gmail account.

In the case we're discussing, the Yahoo account will still be active and the Gmail account will behave like an email client…checking the Yahoo account email until…well…until the end of time, I suppose.

Then I am going to give it a shot, just have to come up with a mail name, maybe I'll use the same as I use for Yahoo

Anyone here using Yahoo Mail?
They just 'updated' the look and it's awful, as if they tried to make it as bad as possible
I have GMail also but just like to use it for more professional uses. I have been using Yahoo Mail for so long and it is tied to so many things it would be painful to switch.
In Firefox they even made me turn off my adblocker as now they won't allow it, but for some reason Safari isn't affected yet.
Why do companies keep trying to fix what isn't broken?
Folks like me are complaining but so far nothing

I hate their SPAM filter. they are sending email to spam whom I have replied. Many time, I was in discussing with recruiter. when recruiter send me interview invite, Yahoo transfer that email to SPAM even though I have replied. I have been using yahoo since year 2001. But now I am planning do permanent bye.
