Hello everyone (I know this is not related to Apple product nor services but I don't know where else I could ask this question.

I have a Yamaha Stereo of my dad (who past away a while ago.......)
Now I disconnected every cable to clean behind it but now I can't get it to work.. I have 4 cables left and really don't know where to put them in..

Thanks in advance!

It appears that the output of the pre-amp (CX-2 Pre Out)) is not going to the input of the amplifier (MX-2) on the lower left.

I got your PM and I'll try to explain it better.

According to your pictures, you have:

AM/FM Tuner - Yamaha TX-470

CD Player - Yamaha CDX-670

Tape Player/Recorder - Yamaha KX-650

Preamplifier - Yamaha CX-2

Amplifier - Yamaha MX-2

More to come...

----------

The preamplifier out:

Needs to go to the amplifier in:

Does that help?

Yeah thank you very much! Such a stupid Little detail.. But this was really helpful!

Use the two white "extra" cables you have for this.

----------

Use the other two extra cables you have to connect the Tape player to the preamplifier.

On the tape player, take one of the other extra cables and connect it to the Line In REC and connect it to the Tape 1 - REC Out on the preamplifier.

Then connect the other cable next to it.

That should be it!

----------

Question, do you have a VCR connected to this for sound?

If so, you have them in the wrong place on the preamplifier. Move them over to the left one spot.

Cheers!

Sorry for the very late reply I only noticed it now. No there isn't a VCR connected to it.
