Any chance you purchase your iphone4 with a credit card, you might be protected with the card benefit.
Well, at least you're realistic.
At first I believed I lost my phone but more than likely it was stolen. I was in a large crowd and it was probably taken by someone, along with my wallet. If I lost the phone, it wouldn't have been turned off, right after I lost it trying to call.
this kind of sucks now.
Soooo, you lost your iPhone, the receipt, and your wallet at the same time.
''shouldn't you be more concerned about losing your wallet? Identity theft, etc...
I lost my iPhone 4 after 12 days. Fell out of my pocket in a cab. I didn't install mobile me beforehand, but I was insured by AMEX platinum so I got my $199 back at least.
The problem is if you lost your phone is that you are still stuck with the 2 year contract for nothing. I tried to call AT&T many times about this and they still won't cancel my contract even though it's within the 30-day return period. The problem is they told me that if I buy another iphone, that's another contract and they won't cancel the first one. So if you need to cancel service for any reason within the next two years, that's TWO early termination fees you gotta pay ($750 - ouch).
Watch out for this!
Although that's the truth, it's not economically prudent for AT&T to do this. I would buy another phone right now if this stipulation weren't preventing me. I thought the idea was to sell more phones.
No they wouldn't because that would be insurance fraud, which is a federal offense.
To the OP, hard to believe that you lost your phone AND the receipt unless they were together. Are you really that careless? Expensive lesson!
