That's good to hear.

Wish more places used sand instead of salt.

The problem is that sand doesn't always work. Esp in places where it gets DANG cold. Sand had problems in sub 0 weather that occasionally shows up here in MN. IN those cases I think they use some sort of hybrid of salt and something else that works in sub zero weather.

You could always do like they do in Sapporo. Have heated sidewalks and in some cases road areas. ;)

BTW, there is nothing in the world like watching a cute young lady in high heals, with a mini skirt and little fur coat walking down the street in sub zero weather. Really gets your attention let me tell you! :)

I drive a company car most of the time. So, I don't have the time to drive my own car. My car is basically in the garage 99.5% of the time and I start it once or twice a month to make sure the engine is lubricated. In my case, I love to burn off the gas as I only fill up the gas once a quarter (gas goes bad over a period of time). It is at a quarter mark after I filled her up to 70% mark in July or August.
I purchased a 7 year warranty from GM; so it is good to go till 2009. It is still at 12,500 miles (in a mint condition; oil is Mobile 1 Synthetic, only driven on dry pavement).

(It's thread revival time!)

I've finally settled my account and as soon as the central-locking motor is replaced the heap of a car will be put up for sale to help fund my 2007/08 'round the world adventure.

:)

The thing that pisses me off is that the car has been immaculately maintained. Every factory service, the works.

I think the three years in Washington DC roached the suspension, though, hence the shocks and broken control arms.

The roads here are atrocious. I thought I knew bad roads from living in Atlanta and Philadelphia...DC takes the cake. The roads are pretty decent in many places, but then they have huge potholes in the worst places. Also, for some reason they put sewer grates right where your tires need to go, instead of centering them in the lane.

This is what we get for letting a Frenchman (ahem) design the streets.

Edit: Hilarious. Not only did I post to an old thread that got bumped (without realizing it was old) I also just realized I previously responded to this thread and wrote almost exactly the same thing.
