Although I realize it's a server-side issue with APNs deployment via iCloud, I'd love to see the iOS/macOS 27 rollouts this year unexpectedly bring this functionality with them, unlikely though that is.

I've given up on it, they closed a bug I opened for it saying that it was acting as intended.

The solution is to go to JMAP like what fastmail uses. That works beautifully... but I don't see them going that route any time soon
